The Journey to Freedom: My Story & Your Roadmap to Success

Hello Freedom Creator,

I hope you’re feeling inspired.

Today, I want to talk about something close to my heart: The Journey to Freedom.

You’ve likely been drawn to the idea of freedom: financial freedom, time freedom, and the freedom to live life on your own terms.

But let me be real with you: the path to freedom isn’t always easy or straightforward.

It’s a journey and like any journey, it comes with its challenges.

The good news? You don’t have to navigate it alone.

Why the Journey Matters

Many people dream of breaking free from their 9-to-5 and traditional paths but they get stuck at the starting line.

They’re held back by fear, perfectionism, or the feeling that they’re not ready.

But here’s the thing. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start.

In fact, the key to success is to start before you’re ready. The journey itself is what will shape you into the person you need to become in order to succeed.

When I first started out in my online journey I didn’t have all the answers.

I faced fear, doubt, and uncertainty, just like you might be feeling now.

And when I begun my journey at the start of the year, for the first 6 months I went through every emotion you can imagine.

But by taking consistent action, learning from my failures, and staying focused on my vision, I’ve been getting closer to a point where things are starting to align.

Do I have it all figured out? No, of course not.

But that is part of the journey.

And now, I’m here to help you on yours.

Your Freedom Roadmap

Here are three key steps that can guide you along your journey to freedom:

  1. Define What Freedom Means to You
Freedom means something different to everyone. For some, it’s about quitting their day job and traveling the world. For others, it’s about spending more time with family or creating a legacy they’re proud of. Take a moment to get clear on your own vision of freedom because without a destination it’s hard to plot a course.

  2. Start Small, But Start Now
Don’t wait for the “perfect” time to start because it doesn’t exist. If you have an idea for an online business or side hustle, start with what you have. Take one small action today whether it’s creating a social media profile, drafting your first piece of content, or researching your niche. These small actions will build momentum over time.

  3. Embrace the Process
The entrepreneurial journey is full of ups and downs. You’ll experience wins, but you’ll also face setbacks. The key is to keep going, learn from every challenge, and adjust your course as needed. Freedom is not a one-time destination; it’s a process of continual growth and self-discovery.

My Own Journey

Let me share a bit more about my journey and why I’m so passionate about helping you achieve your freedom.

For nearly my whole life, I’ve been a serial entrepreneur building businesses and working in various leadership roles. My entrepreneurial journey began when I was around 13-years-old with my first side hustle. And over the years, up and through my mid-20s I launched 10 ventures in a wide range of industries. Some did okay, but most flopped. But the most important thing was what I learned from each of them.

My professional career began in my early 20’s as a sales and marketing director for national companies like Telus and The National Post. It was the real “9-to-5” that paid my bills while I continued to work obsessively on my side-ventures.

Then in 2008 during the economic crash, budgets were cut, and I was left without work.

After nearly six months of fruitless job searching, I swallowed my pride and transitioned to work for the family business: my mother’s senior home health care company she founded in 1994 — as a new immigrant.

Then, for the next 13 years, I worked as Chief Operating Officer for the mother and son run company.

In that time I grew and scaled the business, strengthened community relationships, surpassed our largest competitors, and worked every position within the oganization.

I handled business development, management, accounting, operations, branding, marketing, web development, systems, both staff and client relations — the list goes on.

I served as a founding member of a non-profit advocating for home care, worked in public relations, and eventually became Vice President of the non-for-profit, and later became a proud member of the Board of Directors for the region’s largest non-profit representing senior care.

A defining moment in my professional career.

But it wasn’t all sunshine.

There was a period where I didn’t take a vacation for five years because I was so engulfed in optimizing and growing the company, putting out fires, and being as face-forward as possible being the representative I was.

My vision was one of two scenarios: to either scale the company and branch out into a franchise model or open up satellite offices, or, the biggest scenario, achieve a sale and a successful exit.

And then, everyone’s world got rocked in 2020 when Covid entered the scene. To put it lightly, it derailed our development and growth strategy. In this time, it was 100% survival mode. With nearly 250 staff members and 100 clients, it was, to put it mildly, hell on earth.

But, we persevered.

Thanks to the hard work we put in the years before the company survived and even grew because of our systems and the public clout we achieved.

In late 2020, we found a buyer through one of our main competitors. When I tell the story to people today, I call it “The text from God”.

And as they say… the rest is history.

But despite this success something still felt missing.

As the years passed on by after the sale, I craved more personal and business freedom. I wanted to build something that truly aligned with my strengths, passions, and values. I know I have so much inside of me to give to others.

That is why now I know it’s time to fully commit to the path that will allow me to help others design lives of purpose, impact, fulfillment, and freedom.

So like you, I’ve faced setbacks, doubts, and challenges.

Days, weeks, and months of wanting to quit asking myself “Why am I doing this?”

But what kept me moving forward was the realization the life I wanted was worth fighting for. It was as true when I was working for the family company, as it is now building an online business of my own.

And I know the same is true for you, too.

The path to freedom isn’t easy.

But every step we take brings us closer to our goals.

I’m living proof that it’s possible.

So what’s Next?

In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more tips and strategies to help you on your journey to freedom, and things I am currently doing myself, including:

  • How to find your ideal niche and turn it into a profitable business.
